Welcome to my website! I'm Laura, PhD in Particle Physics. My research has been carried out within the frame of the international DUNE collaboration in the Neutrino Group at CIEMAT (Spain). In particular, our group was in charge of testing and validating DUNE Photon Detection System. I actively participated in these activities, specifically with the work developed at CERN Neutrino Platform (Switzerland) where I have been a visitor scientist.

I built experience in scientific modeling and simulation of experimental systems. I developed simulations (Geant4) to characterize a photodetection setup at CIEMAT, and I led the data analysis to determine the absolute efficiency of the light-detection devices installed at CERN. This work resulted in two first-author publications. This required, not only building and validating physical models against real detector data, but also developing and maintaining Python-based analysis frameworks. Moreover, I have contributed to a common ProtoDUNE analysis framework with all the lessons learned from CIEMAT laboratory. Finally, I have worked a large international collaboration, and contributed to its C++ software framework.
